How do I join Blue Light Card?
Register online to purchase your Blue Light Card. It costs just £4.99 for 2-years access to thousands of discounts available online and in-store.
What do I need to provide to prove I am a retired NHS worker?
Once you apply, it can take up to 7 working days for your membership to be reviewed and approved. However, this time may vary depending on the volume of applications.
Can all retired NHS employees sign up?
Yes all roles including doctors, nurses, midwives, support workers and admin roles can Blue Light Card.
What if Iāve retired from the NHS but donāt have an NHS pension?
If you donāt have an NHS pension or NHS Pension P60 simply take a photo of your pension document next to a form of old work ID (in the same picture) that proves you have worked in the NHS. Options for this include any previous NHS payslips, your NHS Contract of employment, or any other document that shows you were employed in the NHS.
I was employed in the NHS and I have a Blue Light Card, but now Iāve retired
When itās time for you to renew, youāll be asked to upload your ID as part of your card application. Please provide us with your pension document, or pension p60 and our Member Services team will review your ID and update your account to reflect your retired status. The good news is, once your account approved under the retired NHS category you wonāt need to provided ID again for future renewals.
