Giving Tuesday 2020
Reaching a medical emergency quickly can be the difference between the life and death of a patient in need. Every day, your local air ambulance (Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland) helps save lives by delivering lifesaving care within an average of 10 minutes of being called – giving those in critical conditions the very best chance of survival and recovery.
\r\nDue to receiving no government funding whatsoever and being entirely reliant on the generosity of the public, the charity unfortunately lost over £2million during of the first lockdown (despite reaching their 40,000 mission milestone and continuing to provide rapid response to over 3000 trauma and medical emergencies over the course of the year) and are expecting the same losses during the second due to store closures and lack of fundraising activities.
\r\nThough 2020 has been exceptionally challenging for us all; that’s why this year, they need your support more than ever to keep their helicopters flying and providing support to the emergency services when their care is needed most.
\r\nHow can you help?
\r\nDonate your loose change
\r\nHave you been collecting your loose change over lockdown? Not going out has had its perks in that many of us have managed to squirrel away significantly more than usual. While we’re all looking to treat ourselves and our families to the nicer things now that we’re coming to celebrate the end of 2020; if you have money to spare, taking time to give back to those who give their all would go a long way to help keep their teams mission-ready and our communities safe in the event of the unimaginable. \r\nGive back with unwanted goods via ClickSit
\r\nHave any old, unwanted items at home? Your local air ambulance has joined up with ClickSit to provide free returns postage labels allowing you to donate your goods without the need of delivering to their stores or going to a donation bank.
\r\nTo generate your click-sit donation label(s, simply click the link and enter your email. You will then be sent a printable label to stick on your box of donations (max. weight 10KG each) which will be sent free of charge from your nearest Collect+ point.
\r\nChristmas campaign
\r\nThis Christmas period, your local air ambulance’s critical care crews will continue to attend an average of 10 missions a day in the local community. Donating to their Christmas Appeal 2020, whether large or small, could help keep the team flying and saving lives through to the New Year. Find out more
